MEDIA PLAYER SKIN : I'm guessing what you're seeing are .WMZ files?For Office they are zip files that contain the WMF (Windows Metafile zip?)graphics that are in your Word document that web browsers don'tsupport, but they're retained for reopening the web page in Word.The zips keep them smaller.The MS Media Player team also chose to use .WMZ (Windows Media Zip)to stoe all of the elements that make up a Skin. Media player 7 and uptake over the file association and 'file type' title you'd see in Windows Explorer.However, having or not having WMZ files should make no differencein being able to upload the file.If you're getting two copis of bitmap images (PNG/GIF/JPG) then chancesare that you resized the graphic in the Word document from it's originalsize. Office stores the original size and the 'visible' size.You can use the Office 2000 HTML filter/stripper to reduce the size ofthe HTML and the number of graphic files associated with thepages MEDIA PLAYER SKIN : Using the copy from Start=>Programs menu gives you more featuresthan the Word add-in copy you'll have after installing the filter andthe standalone utility lets you process multiple files, without starting Word.When making my web pages with Word, I used to just insert a clip or pictureand save. The page + the clip appeared in the folder.Since I have Word 2000, the page is saved with a file folder that includes afile list + the inserted images name 001, 002 etc. Even if I unable aseparate file folder, the file list appears. I wasn't able to upload thoseon my web page until someone in this group helped me by telling I can uploadthem directly from Word.But now, without my having made any changes, in the file folder appear notonly each inserted image but also a corresponding Windows Media Player SkinPackage. This seems to be the case with all WMF images - whereas all GIFimages just appear twice in the folder. I couldn't get why my computer seemed to start doing this all of asudden. And a file name like Windows Media Player something didn't help whenit was about Word. (Searches only gave articles about audio and video.)Well, I was looking around my homepage folders and realized I hadn't handledany wmf or gif clips since I changed from Word 97 to Word 2000 (only jpeg).I'm relieved to notice computers aren't quite as independent as theysometimes seem ;-)Jpeg files don't seem to react like that and animated gifs don't get doubledeven if I resize them. This seems to be something new with Word 2000. InWord 97 I could edit web page files as I wanted without such zip functions.Word specific markings just stayed there (that's why at work as was told touse Front Page).
