MP3 PLAYER REVIEWS : Rio800 is rechargable (you have to take adapter on trips as opposedto batteries) - not sure about replaceable (couldn't find battery onweb site)depending on what you load on 800 (and probably software) is issuewith stopping and restarting ---some things I load, can't 'stop' but I create bookmark and can go backrestart from there --not wile about fast forward either (only one speed - which is not toofast) -- and if you hit it slightly off, it will go to next track(which if you are listening to a long program and haven't savedbookmark will take ages to restart properly)hope this helps (if anyone has solutions to these issues - wouldappreciate)I use a Rio600, have a Backpack to boost memory and to make it rechargeable.RIO has all sorts of dire warnings about never removing the battery howeverthe battery compartment is the same as the none rechargeable version, i.e.the battery can be removed. It is a standard NiMH AA type and can beremoved but if you do so be careful, don;t replace it backwards and althoughI suspect you could use an Alkali type do not attempt to recharge it!.I also have some problems with the restart but as mine is used by more thanone person and usually has at least a couple of books loaded each user hasto set their own bookmarks. Beware, if a book is deleted the bookmarks canend up pointing to some rather odd places. I like it because it is smalland very easily carried (my other player is a Rio250).Doug.

MP3 PLAYER REVIEWS : HiI listen to old time radio and since these are also 30 minute orlonger in length the requirements are the same. Two really essentialfeatures are true resume (returns to the exact point you left off) andfast scan (forward-reverse).If you want a really portable flash player I recommend the new iRiveriFP-180T. I'll have a full review of this player on my site (listedbelow) tomorrow. It has 128MB of memory, true resume, variable scan(1x,2x,4x,6x) and a host of features you won't find anywhere else.I believe the price will be $150. Best Buy will be the sole USretailer. If you don't mind a larger player than I recommend the iRiver SlimXwhich is an mp3 cd player. You can read the numerous reviews(including mine) which lavish praise for this player. Widely availablefor under $150. I recommend the Samsung YEPP 700. It has 128 meg memory, and allows foranother up to 128 meg via smartmedia.Got mine at BB. It uses USB for loading. There r 2 versions available. Thebb model does not have the FM radio and is $199

MP3 PLAYER REVIEWS : Hello friends,I do not know if somebody can answer my question, but I am just trying. So far, I have downloaded from the Internet 65 songs, about 500Mb, mp3files, and I still do it on a 3-5-songs/week ratio, I listen to them throughmy JVC Stereo Speakers, the quality is excellent. However, I would like totake them with me on the road, particularly in the car, to listen to themthrough my car radio speakers. I do not have any CD player in the car, onlythe radio my 2000 Civic came with, and I do not intend to install onebecause of the many thefts in my area (my car is parked in the undergroundof an apartment building). Therefore, I think my only option is an MP3Player. Of course, I will have to transfer all the songs in its memory. Inmy mind is to have it connected to my cigarette lighter and through thecigarette lighter to my radio speakers (hope it's possible!). Moreover, whenI leave the car for a long time, especially overnight, I want to take itwith me, like the car phone. No worries that I will not see it again thenext morning!I do not have a CD Writer in my computer and I do not need one!Does any of you have one of these in your car? If yes, can you send me somedetails, where did you buy it, how much did it cost, if it does exactly whatI am looking for, maybe with some accessories, any other insight will bevery helpful.I am not a wiz in this particular field so the more details the betterchances I will understand the whole process.I know that these MP3 Players are not cheap at all, so I have to know thatwhat I am really buying is exactly what I am looking for.Thank you very much for your help.Christian, from Toronto.

MP3 PLAYER REVIEWS : You know what, I think I know just what you need.I was in the Eaton Centre last week and saw something called a Sony MP3 walkman. It was really neat but be prepared to shell out some bucks for it. You canlisten to it with headphones like a normal walkman but it's shaped like acassette tape...and you can stick it right in your tape player and play it!It was cool but I think the guy in the store (Battery Plus) said it was around350 bucks which was certainly more than I was willing to pay. So there you go.Factory Direct had one for 90 dollars a few weeks ago. I will buy one whenthey are down to 50 dollars. If you're refering to the Genica CD/MP3 player, I bought it around 4 monthsago. If that is what this post is refferring to, it's not that bad of an mp3player. it has a few bugs in it, but i seriously love the fact that you canhave sooo many tracks on one cd.

MP3 PLAYER REVIEWS : I'm looking for all the things everyone wants in an MP3 player- small, long battery life, large (or interchangable card) memory size... but Ialso need it to be waterproof, or as close as it can be- for working ina 100% humidity environment.Few MP3 player reviews I've seen even indicate whether the players arewater resistant (even the sports models) and a few that seem promisinghave dead websites or no real information available.Does anyone know of any reviews anywere that focus on waterproof orwater-resistant MP3 players? It is ok if it also has other functions(CD, AM/FM) but the MP3 player is the only part that matters to me...I'm looking for something like this, also, except that it needs to be verywaterproof. IOW, I swim about a mile a day at the local Y, and a waterproofradio, etc. would sure make the time pass easier. ;-) Speedo and othershave made waterproof radios, but 1) they aren't really waterproof, and 2)you lose your radio station whenever you do a flip turn at the end of thepool (radio antennae won't work underwater).
