So my favorite bass player goes to Jansen, from Japan. He's the first one to make me think" Wow, bass could sound like that." And no doubt my favorite guitar player are, Jonny Marr, John Squire, and Bret Butler. They are not the typical guitar slashing kind, more of a pensive thinker. I almost forgot to mention Koffler from Dire Strait, I when to see on of his gig in Canada and he played like only a twenty year veteran can play.I've seen Clapton too in Minniapolis but I have to say that the show is not much insipiraring. Anyhow, I guess different people have different taste, mine is not neccessarily better than anyones. And that's what music is all about, touching the heart of different people.Jimi Hendrix was/still is THE GUITAR GOD!Jimi's full name was James Marshall Hendrix. He's from Seattle, Washington.It's the Animals (Eric Burdon's band) ' manager who first promoted Jimi inEngland, where he launched his electrical storm that swapt across the world withhis Fender Stra!(with Noel redding on bass, Mitch Mitchell on drums. NoelRedding was actually auditioning for lead guitar position when the Animals'manager - I can't think of his name right now- was trying to form the band forJimi Hendrix in London!) MUSIC PLAYERS : Remember, back in his days, there're NO fancy synth / effect boxes,Jimi created all the SFX with his fingers, his teeth(yes, sometimes, he played with his teeth!) stacks of tube Marshall amps, and a Vox fuzz-Wah pedal(it was called a Cry-baby.) and his Fender Stratocasters.Best Eric Clapton's performance were recorded in the "Fresh Cream" and"Wheels of fire" Cream's albums, even though "Sunshine of your love" IS stillone of my all time fav!Eric Clapton also played in the Beatles' "White Album", on thetrack "While my guitar gently weeps"- a George Harrison's song. Then he stole George Harrison's wife after that! ( Harrison's wife leftGeorge and married Eric Clapton !)Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton all came from the Yardbirds.Eric Clapton also did a sting with John Mayell, where he met Jack bruce andGinger Baker, the rest is Rock and Roll history.Flea is trying to immitate Stanley Clark. (a great jazz/funk bass player.)You can especially tell by RHCP's cover version of "Superstition" (a StevieWonder's oldie.) Yes, Flea is a pretty good bass player. MUSIC PLAYERS : Eric Clapton is not a total success for almost 30 years. Yes, he has beenvery successful over-all, judging by any standard, but he did have a period ofunsuccessful years, after his Derek and the Dominos period, and the problemswere compounded by depression and heroin abuse. Until he released the 461 Ocean Blvd. album. Is it the fact thatthey're burned rather than pressed? Because they are harder to read (lower reflectivity) onsome players.From my research and personal experience I'm of the opinion that DVD burningfor players is still more of an art than a science.Even more confusing are problems that manifest themselves in one portion ofa disc, but not another. This is all very frustrating when it takes 24hrsto render your project :-)Incompatibility issues I've read about are:1) Disc reflectivity2) Disc shape (uneven discs cause wobbles)3) Player quality4) MPEG2 encoding bitrate5) Authoring software glitches6) Size of the project relative to size of the disc (apparantly the end ofdiscs are "harder" to read then the beginning). MUSIC PLAYERS : What you have to remember is that the pros spend a LOT of time authoring andtesting discs to ensure compatibility. They also use higher quality tools(DVD for authoring) and ultimateley send their projects to professionalduplicators who have reliable process control.When a consumer makes a disc, it's usually just one, or a handful of copies.One thing I'd ABSOLUETLY recommend is to ALWAYS write the inital burn toDVD-RW until your reasonably sure that it will work. From there, you cansimply duplicate the DVD-RW onto DVD-R. I remember the days of CD coasters.You don't needs any DVD coasters to compliment them, especially at $1-$5 percoaster :-)Oops, ignore this. I consued something. It's all wrong. SorryI jumped in on the CDR burning craze during its infancy and wasted a bunchof money and time. So, I'm waiting a while before jumping in on the DVDburning craze.I'm waiting because I experienced the same problems with CDR as you nowexperience with DVD.
