Does anyone know if Pioneer makes a AM/FM/Cassette radio which can control my Pioneer 12-Pack from it's own controls? (currently I use a remote control) I would also like the new radio to have the nice feature of displaying a description of the currently playing CD (such as I have with the small display that came with the FM/Modulated 12-Pack.If so, could you let me know the model and approximate price. What about the new 96-97 radios? Would they be compatible with a Pioneer unit? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I recentlypurchased a portable RCA CD player to use in my '97 SL2, and the tapeadaptor will not stay in the tape deck; it just keeps ejecting. I'mwondering if anyone can recommend a brand/model of portable CD player thatwill work with my factory-installed Saturn cassette deck. I've had the same problem. I've tried two brands of the cassette typeinterface in a total of about 10 cars including my own, others, and rentalcars. I always have the same problem. The cassette just keep popping out. I'm afraid you're out of luck on this one; GM tape decks apparentlydon't like any CD adapters. You can try the Sony CDA-09 or the similarlydesigned Recoton brand, but the best you can really hope for is about30 minutes of play before the auto-reverse starts to freak out. Either replace the tape deck or get an in-dash CD player, becausethe GM OEM cassette decks aren't going to let you win. It has a belt that drives the tape post with the capstand. [used it formore >1.5 hrs without it going crazy]The only problem with my Rectocon tape adapter is that it made a horriblenoise when you used it. I took it apart, took out all the useless wheelsand gears, and put it back together again...no more noise, as now the tapedeck spindles don't touch the adapter.I have been looking into the little FM transmitter that allows one to tuneyour FM radio to an unused frequency and hear your CD's that way. I tcosts the same, ~$20. Has anyone had any experience with this technology? PORTABLE CD PLAYERS : It's call "MP3" technology. It's still a bit pricey, but there really isnothing else quite like it.
