WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 9 : Hello everyone, i have a few comments about the Windows Media Player 9.I have been using WMP9 since the first beta release, which I know by the way WMP9 is still not at its final version yet. Im using Windows 2000 Professional, I previously hopped from the original Windows Media Player 6.4 to Windows Media Player 7.1. I was dissapointed at the release of Windows XP packaged with Windows Media Player 8, and found no version of WMP8 for Windows 2000. Now to see Windows Media Player 9 for both OSes, i felt it was time for an upgrade. After the upgrade, i was impressed of the new look and features of the WMP9's gui, but that stopped there, unlike my previous upgrade from 6.4 to 7.1 where everything was an improvement, the almost exact opposite occured with WMP9. Sure 9 looked good but it seems to have a hard time streaming video over the internet, and I on a LAN connection (RealOne Gold has no problems streaming). When playing video files i.e. MPEGs the video is played jerky as ever, it wasnt like this on Windows Media Player 7 (RealOne Gold plays MPEGs smooth), plus my system is old but its not that ancient to not be able to handle video playback ( AMD K6-2+ 533Mhz @ 550MHz, 288MB SDRAM, GeForce2 MX200 64MB DDRAM). Also, Windows Media Player 9 series the past betas, and this latest release candidate suffers from full screenolous, it wont play none of my mpeg files in full screen, it just goes back to window. ( RealOne Gold has no problem with full screen playback, heck not even the previous Windows Media Players 6.4 & 7.1). So just let whoever is reading this know, that there are still some big issues that need to get ironed out with Windows Media Player 9, because and upgrade is suppose to be an improvement, not a disaprovement. WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 9 : Viewing full screen video problem is not caused by theWindows Media Player. It is the problem of the mpeg orother video codec that you or your programs set to use forplaying some particular video files.The default video/audio codec on Windows to play mpeg-1files in full screen is no problem.but the other video programs's video/audio codec that youhave installed on your computer overrided the defaultvideo/audio codec to use for playing the mpeg-1 files.first of all, I see that everybody who is using wmp9 has about the same problems for playing audio or video (especially the streaming format)...when I played wmp9 for the first time, I didn't seem to have any problems, but after a while, it started with the news online wich I wasn't able to see anymore...After that, I couldn't listen to my downloaded songs anymore, and now, the songs that go through another program but are drivin by wmp are also down.
