WINDOWS PLAYER : is there no one out there smart enough to answer this problem?i download both programs... under windows media bonus pack there is audio transfer/conversion from mp3 to windows media.it shows that the transfer has been done but when you test it, the transfer from mp3 to windows media/wave never happened... what takes place is when you go to burn the music the program is allowing 200 or so music files to be burned to windows media/wave, this shouldn't happened you should be getting about 25 music files or so per cd disc... when you go to test the cd on your cd home cd player it doesn't play/recognize the cd music disc...i uninstalled the bonus pack and reinstalled it but it does the same thing , it won't convert the files over properly... after trying it a couple times i used real player 1 and it transferred the files ok from mp3 to windows media/wave and it played alright on my home cd player... What can the problem be??? is it the bonus pack? is it windows media player 9 ??? it worked fine when it was windows media player 8, i believe that is what xp home gives you directly off the cd... WINDOWS PLAYER : I have several questions pertaining to my friends computer. First off we where trying to update his windows player and got this message. Server name or address not be resolved. (Ox80072EE7). Could you please help me on that one? Next we went to microsoft updates and tried to do all the critical updates on his machine would get us as far as hitting the install now and would just sit there not doing anything. Tried it several times but no such luck. So we then went into the Windows 98 and second addition add all of the ones to the install now and it still wouldn't let us do it. If you could help me out in anyway, I would appreciate it very much.He also has a digital camera and we are trying to view it on the computer. We click on it and no such luck. Says no file. Will not open it. Can you give us any suggestions on how to do that or do we need something downloaded on his computer? WINDOWS PLAYER : Does anyone have a URL that provides a simple explanation of the variousoptions on creating a text meta file for the Windows Player? I have beenusing wax and wvx files for about a year but cannot find a simplelanguage explanation on all the options available that one can put intothe wax and wvx files.--This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.I did finally get to the site. My problem was a wrap around on the URLin the message. The information is very helpful. Has Microsoft everpublished a "book" or a technical report that summarizes all the optionsavailable in the metafile? This would be very helpful. I will continueto look at the URL you provided and extract the information I need. Atechnical report source would also be helpful.I don't know if there's a book with exactly that info or not. Glad the website helps you out. WINDOWS PLAYER : --This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.I appreciate the help. I shall study the various pages and take notes sothat I have a complete understanding about all the options available forthe metafile. I guess those of us who are creating streaming content arehaving to learn about the various options through experience. Thereappears to be no book available that lays out the options and approachesin a straightforward way. I have enjoyed being the webmaster for theMyrna Loy Center for the Performing Arts () forthe past 2 1/2 years and creating streaming material for our patrons foraudience development purposes. We have learned a great deal about theuse of streaming audio and video for audience development purposes. Webdesign and content is an exciting challenge for the arts.Apologies for butting in, but this looks like a good post to pose the foillowing question: Has anyone managed to get the BASE element to work (with WMP 7.1)? WINDOWS PLAYER : Trying to turn off Hardware Acceleration when I embed the Windows Media Player, but when I go to ACTIVEX CONTROL PROPERTIES, then I move the VIDEO slider to none... but it won't save the setting. Is there an OBJECT PARAMETER for hardware acceleration? (the reason for doing this: [on a portable laptop hooked up to a docking station with a separate monitor coming out from the docking station] the user click on a WMV clip and the video plays only on the laptop display, no video on the separate monitor until I (manually under options on the useres computer) change the player hardware acceleration (overlay disable) to none then it will display video on both monitors)HELP.. I have a new corporate website scheduled to launch on July 1st and I need to fix this problem quickly.Trying to turn off Hardware Acceleration when I embed theWindows Media Player (FP2000), but when I go to ACTIVEX CONTROLPROPERTIES, then I move the VIDEO slider to none... but itwon't save the setting. Is there an OBJECT PARAMETER forhardware acceleration?
